Fear

There's a song by Buz Luhrmann called "Wear Sunscreen", kinda like "Desiderata". It's full of good advice, not the least of which is to do something You fear every day.

I try to.

Even as simple as trying a new car wash, trying a new activity. To risk is to live.

Was feeling lonely Sunday nite after work. An emotion I am usually very effective at sublimating. But this Sunday at midnight I didn't feel like sitting at home (that in itself is quite common), but where do you go on a Sunday at the witching hour.

I headed downtown toward's Balthazars on a fellows recommendation, but as I passed the Yale, there were a number of patrons in front. Always wanting to check out the club I parked and entered.

Bonanza. Very good live music. As many girls as guys. Two pool tables for mingling.

Yeah, Sunday... midnight. Sometimes, life is good.

Separately, the car wash worked out too. And The Naam (open 24 hours). The Earthsave.ca Dineout (met Chris(sp?) and Graham(sp?) who was a rawfoodist! (he only ate raw food for 5 years..neat).

Daily. Do something you fear.

To risk is to live.

On other notes, my tenants are still paying rent but are in arrears. Actively casting a net for a Property manager.

Booked my flight for Cairo. 3 weeks starting Dec 18.

Been holding off calling Irish Embassy to start passport application. Fear. It's actually the British embassy and they have different rules. I will face that fear by the next update.

Slowly grinding down my debt.

Networth didn't change much, but ticket to Egypt is paid for. Also earning lots of pensionable hours. Too bad I get paid out in a fiat paper money that will be worthless in 30 years.

I can control my weight. It's at 183 today. Don't eat and you lose weight. Not iron control, but relentless focus. I'll test 175 at some point. Lovehandles.

Listenening to The history of the Peloponnesian War as a podcast on my Nano.

Scan a great many very interesting blogs thru my Google reader daily.

Working long hours, but squeezing life out of every spare moment. Tofino this long weekend and next. Something every day. Even Sundays after midnight :)

I am the best version of Doug so far.

1825 days...
